HNB Supports Neighborworks of Northeastern Pennsylvania
Honesdale, PA – The Honesdale National Bank made a $10,000 donation to NeighborWorks Northeastern Pennsylvania through the PA Department of Community & Economic Development’s (DCED) Neighborhood Assistance Program (NAP).
The Neighborhood Assistance Program focuses on homebuyer education and foreclosure prevention, helping to strengthen neighborhoods in our community through sustainable home ownership.
HNB President & CEO, Thomas E. Sheridan, stated, “At HNB, we are thrilled to support a program that provides greater opportunity for families to grow in our local neighborhoods.” He said, “the future of our communities is vested in partnerships just like these and we appreciate all NeighborWorks is doing to accelerate local opportunities.”
The Neighborhood Assistance Program (NAP) has served as a resource for nonprofits, businesses and neighborhoods for over 30 years. NAP includes five subparts: regular NAP, NPP (Neighborhood Partnership Program), SPP (Special Priorities Program), CFP (Charitable Food Program), and EZP (Enterprise Zone Program). The goals of NAP are to promote community participation and collaborations among nonprofits, businesses and residents while producing outcomes which assist a distressed area or the low-income population in a neighborhood.
